IT Systems Administrator

Yearly Salary: $60,000 Based on Experience Level

Key Responsibilities

IBM Power 8 & Legacy Application Support

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the IBM Power 8 system.
• Support and update custom RPG II, RPG III, and RPG IV applications.
• Perform routine maintenance, backups, and system health checks.
• Implement small enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
• Assist leadership with long‑term planning for system modernization.

General IT Infrastructure

• Provide support for Windows‑based PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Maintain user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
• Troubleshoot and maintain network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Support connectivity and basic IT needs across all company locations.
• Offer remote and occasional on‑site assistance, primarily from the Billings headquarters.

Security & Compliance

• Apply cyber security best practices across all systems.
• Monitor for vulnerabilities and ensure timely patching.
• Support aviation‑related compliance requirements for data integrity and system reliability.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain clear documentation of systems, procedures, and changes.
• Communicate technical issues in a straightforward, non‑technical manner.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience with IBM Power systems (AS/400, iSeries, or Power 8).
• Working knowledge of RPG II, RPG III, and RPG IV.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
• Proficiency with Windows desktop environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities within limited hours.

Preferred

• Experience in aviation, logistics, or other operationally critical industries.
• Familiarity with SQL, CL programming, or IBM i modernization tools.
• Experience supporting multi‑site organizations.
• Knowledge of cyber security frameworks.

Working Conditions

• Full‑time schedule with flexibility based on operational needs.
• Occasional travel to company locations across five states.
• Limited on‑call availability for critical system issues.
• Primary work location: Billings, MT headquarters.

A&P Certification required with 1-3 years previous experience, preferred.

Previous line maintenance in a 135 environment.

C208 experience preferred.

Good troubleshooting techniques required.

Good organizational skills required.

Hours based on overall business needs, swing shifts, generally afternoons, nights occasional weekends.

Sheet Metal background helpful. 

Avionics experience helpful. Must be a motivated self-starter with a team player attitude.

Starting Hourly Wage: $40.00 

Hours are generally M-F evenings & occasional weekends which are based on business needs. A&P Certification required with 2-3 years previous experience preferred. Previous line maintenance in a 135 environment. C208 Caravan experience preferred. Experience in both Sheet Metal and Avionics a plus. Good troubleshooting techniques required. Must be a motivated self-starter with a team player attitude. Good organizational skills required.

Part-Time position in Fargo, ND.  

Primary duties: Wing Walking - validate the guidance of safety for the wingtip clearance and ensuring safe movement of aircraft, assisting with the securing of aircraft once positioned in their parking spot. Shift Hours: Generally 3:30am - 5:30am 5 days a week & subject to change based on business needs.
